My painting practice has been varied in the types of projects I have pursued, but a common thread through my work has been a concern for how an image is brought into being. I require my projects to have a serendipitous element in how the ideas or works are created. This aspect to my work stems from a desire to feel I am in a collaboration with something outside myself and for there to be a process of discovery through this collaboration. When painting, I view my painting process as a collaboration with the subject, chance, an idea or even the paint itself.
